Setting a Goal to Lose Weight

Do you have the same problem as I do in that I have a few pounds I need to lose? My problem is that I like food too much!

I'm not a big eater but I guess I eat a bit more than I should and being in my 50's it's a lot harder to get the weight off. Being female doesn't help either! I don't know if you're like me, but I hate going to a gym! I'm going to try exercising at home so I'll see what happens. I'll have to enlist my husband to make sure I do it everyday!

I've decided that the only way I'll succeed is to set a goal that's realistic for me to achieve. I'm not going to set unrealistic demands on myself as I know that won't work, so I've decided to take it slowly so that I'm less likely to give up.

I'm doing this for medical reasons rather than being excessively overweight. In the past 6 months my cholesterol has risen slightly so my medication to control it had to be increased.

I don't want to end up like my father and take numerous medications for a whole range of problems, so I need to do something about it now.

My goal will be worded so that I can achieve the amount of weight I need to lose, a completion date and then I'll divide it into weekly targets.

I'll give a progress report under the "Setting Goals" tab on a regular basis, so check back to see how I'm going.
