How to Succeed at Weight Loss

I get a lot of emails from frustrated readers. Frustrated because they just can't stick to a weight loss program. And therefore, they just aren't getting the fat loss results they deserve.

And most of these people blame themselves...and hard.

But to be fair, in this world of fast food, comfortable chairs and 50,000 channels, it's only easy in theory to stick to a fat loss, muscle building lifestyle. In reality, we all have days where we want to skip out on our fitness needs.

Other people find the information overload so overwhelming it paralyzes their ability to move forward on a program. In this day of the information age, it's not hard to get access to some very good (and very bad) fitness information.

But I like to think the very good info is found in my newsletters here.

But even with all the info out there, it can be tough to put it all together, let alone stick to it.

And you can't expect to go from a laundry list of bad habits to a virtual fitness diehard overnight.

But you can make a big new change everyday and get one step closer to your dream body.

Yesterday I started working with two clients that both weigh over 350 pounds. But I'm not giving them a hardcore workout and nutrition plan today, and expecting them to follow it to the letter. That would last about 4 hours.

Instead, we identify the worst of their habits, and slowly attack them one by one.

With consistency.

Because it is with consistency, that you make good fat loss choices into lifelong habits.

And that's what I've seen work over and over again. For once the consistency becomes a habit, then you are in control.

One of my best clients and best friend is a shining example...gone are the days when he drank 2 liters of soda per day...and now he sticks to whole-foods eating and he is so successful he is cover-model magazine material.

But he didn't get this way overnight. And not too many people will. You slowly need to make improvements, day by day. In fact, he gained these habits day by day, week by week, over the winter last year. Buying more vegetables each week, trying new forms of lean protein (eventually coming to love salmon) every other day, eating nuts as an energy-boosting snack instead of drinking pop, subbing in Green Tea for soda, and so on and so forth.

I guarantee that a good plan will help you make life changing, fat loss habits. Day by day, step by step, you need to make consistent lifestyle changes. But at the very least, get back on track today and be more consistent than ever before.

I know you can do it!

Weight Loss Tips - How To Lose Weight, And An Introduction To "Live" Foods

If you really eat the right foods, your energy levels will skyrocket and your waistline will shorten! Your food is what is used to form all the cells in your body. When you eat good food, your cells are good. When you eat bad food your cells are not healthy. This is a very simple concept that many people have ignored their ENTIRE LIFE!

I want to use the shower analogy. Americans always find the time to shower. Got to be somewhere in 20 minutes? No problem... hop in the shower for 5, leave in 8. Those of you who take 3 hours... No problem. Wake up at 3:30 to be there by 9:00? No sweat. No matter what, there's always time.

Why is it not the same with the way we eat? We're all clean on the outside, but inside we're dirty as a chicken coup. What if I told you that you should consider washing your body with antifreeze not soap? Wouldn't even think about it, right? You can find some of the same chemicals that wash our windshields and keep our car fluids from freezing in the ice creams that you buy in the supermarket!

How about brushing your teeth with pesticides? Pretty nauseating. Well, everyday Americans eat non-organic vegetables that are not only showered in pesticides, but grow in the ground that has been contaminated for years! What I'm saying is this... In order for you to achieve and maintain your best fitness and health, you need to refine your fuel.

Would you think about putting low grade gas in a brand new Lamborghini? No WAY! You want the best for that engine, so now let me tell you about the best fuel for your engine- your body! So what should you eat?

Live Foods...

The best foods you can eat are fresh, organically grown, uncooked foods. The reason is because their chemistry has not been changed by cooking, pesticides or any other chemical additive. Your diet should consist of more raw foods than cooked if you want to have the most energy. Why? Because the cells in these foods are still living.

They contain complete nutrients and enzymes that your body needs for maximum and optimal health. If you have an onion in the pantry for too long it starts to grow! Those living enzymes, the same ones that make that onion grow are what you want to eat. Another great thing about raw food is that nature has a fantastic way of putting complimentary nutrients together so they can work together on absorption. So you'll find the right amount of magnesium with calcium and vitamin D in a whole, raw food.

You can't get that in most supplements. Most supplements can't imitate nature like this. With raw foods, it's what nature intended. Now wait, please don't panic... you can still cook foods, cooking vegetables is much better than eating none at all, but make sure you bring more raw foods into your diet. The more raw foods you eat, the more life energy you will have. Do it, you'll feel great and you'll make it a staple of your diet.

Will A Weight Loss Diet Pill Help?

We are all familiar with the ads; in fact, it would be difficult to go for an entire 24 hour period without seeing an ad for a weight loss diet pill. They come in a variety of shapes and colors, with some celebrity endorsements, complete with all the promises you want to hear. But, do they really help with weight loss? And, if they do, are they worth the potential side effects?

When comparing the many available types of oral weight loss support, it becomes immediately apparent that one of the main components is caffeine. Why? Caffeine helps to provide you with an extra source of energy that you may previously have obtained through snacking. While this may prove harmless and somewhat effective for some people, others might suffer increased anxiety, nervousness, and/or a feeling of irritability. The logic here is simple, if you may be caffeine sensitive and find that after using a supplemental pill for weight loss that you fall into the negative side effect category - pass on the pills!

Another common component of these oral supplements is their appetite suppression properties. Various combinations of natural, and not so natural, ingredients are used to reduce your desire to eat. Some people will find themselves with a sensitivity to these ingredients and experience a range of side effects. Cramping, headache, or nausea are very commonly experienced when taking a weight loss diet pill. If you're taking these pills and your side effects are anything more than minor and temporary - stop using the pills!

When it comes to supplementing your diet with any type of weight loss pill, the smartest thing you should do before starting is to consult with your physician. Your physician will advise you as to whether or not you even need this type of supplement. Your answer to weight loss may be as simple as a change in your dietary habits, or getting a little more exercise. Also, your physician is more familiar with your overall health than anyone else, and will provide you with professional advice regarding any over-the-counter weight loss product that may help you with dropping some pounds, and more importantly; point out any product or product ingredient that could create problems for you. When it comes to safe and healthy weight loss, the advice of your primary care physician is priceless.

If this course of action is approved for you, the good news is that the safe use of oral weight loss products can help many people curb their appetites while providing a little extra energy to help your body adjust to the the changes in your eating habits. Report any sign of side effects to your physician, take the weight loss diet pills as directed, and you should be fine.

Why Use A Weight Loss Program?

So why actually use a weight loss program?

Losing weight is not only a testing process but can be a long process at the same time if not done properly. Its like a sports car! In order to keep it working to its maximum you have to keep it well fuelled, maintained and oiled. If just one of these factors is missed then that supreme sports car will not run to its maximum and most probably breakdown. The human body and weight loss runs in a similar manner. To get the most out of it and achieve those results within weight loss you have to get every factor inch perfect from diet to exercise and the right mind set. Doing this by yourself can be a daunting process and why most people fall off the rails when it comes to succeeding in losing weight. This is where a well written detailed plan or program can come into play.

When we as humans are faced with a task or problem the first thing we do is try to find a solution to the problem as easy and quickly as possible. So with the problem being weight loss and the aim is to destroy those extra pounds a weight loss program can solve that problem easier and quicker than struggling through it on your own.

There are countless programs available to choose from and finding a program to suit you is vital not only to maximise results but to give you a detailed step by step guide to reaching that ultimate goal of a new slimmer you. Weight loss programs are full of detailed information on dieting and eating healthily which is one of the main factors of any weight loss success. There is information on what to eat, when to eat and how much to eat to keep your body nourished and full at all times. If a step by step guide on what to eat and when is proven to give results then you are suddenly in that "win win" situation in possession of a bible to success.

On top of the diet, exercise is as important in all aspects. The fact step 1 is covered and your diet is equipped for battle, step 2 and exercise will destroy that fat. Exercising is needed to lose weight there is no way of getting around this point but the thought of pounding away on a treadmill for hours or doing a 1000 sit ups is enough to put off the most motivated individual. Now by following a detailed weight loss program you are giving your arsenal against the fat a fighting chance. The exercise routines within a good detailed plan will not have you pounding a treadmill or putting your stomach muscles through torture as there will be detailed exercise plans that in some cases last only 30 minutes. Exercise plans that are simple to follow, easy to understand and literally guide you through the whole process while bringing results. Having that sort of information does not only boost your chances of success but virtually guarantee it. Some people look at a detailed diet and exercise program as being a personal trainer and nutritionist all rolled into one without the damage on the purse.

A simple step by step guide will bring success and what an exercise program can ultimately offer. Its like anything, try putting a flat pack wardrobe together without the step by step guide. Of course in time there might be a chance you get it together. But use a step by step guide and you will succeed just about every time and in quick time.

So if you have thought about looking into a detailed program to follow or whether one would enable you to lose more weight and quicker. The answer is of course its not a magic plan but like anything else a plan of attack brings results! FACT!

Exercise programs that cover all major factors are few and far between and finding one to assist you is a job in itself. They are available though! Visit http://www.weight-loss-made-easy.com for more info and tips on finding the right path on your weight loss journey.

Natural Apple Cider Vinegar Weight Loss

The ability to lose weight naturally is a very desirable condition. Adopting an apple cider vinegar diet into your regimen is the ideal approach for weight loss that does not involve stimulants or diet pills. The plan is pretty straightforward and the results are absolutely stunning.

No one likes to carry extra pounds but few of us have the means to naturally rev up the metabolic rate while keeping cravings under control. There are some simple steps that dieters can take to ensure that they can drop weight naturally and with relatively little effort.

While the apple cider vinegar diet is not miracle cure, it is a viable resource for weight loss without suffering. The secret to the diet's success is thought to lie in the combination of the vinegar's acidic nature and the natural pectin found in apples. The combination serves as a means of getting the metabolism fueled and ready to burn.

One of the health benefits of apple cider vinegar is the product's ability to lower cholesterol. Pectin is a key factor in reducing cholesterol in the body. While there is no scientific connection between the lowered cholesterol and weight loss, there does seem to be a correlation when it comes to this nectar.

The apple cider weight loss plan is simple to follow. There are no restricted menus and nothing is really off limits. However, dieters do have to practice restraint when it comes to snack foods and their meals have to be in sensible proportions. Of course, water is on the top of the list of priorities.

Dieters just take between one and three teaspoons of the vinegar before each meal. This gives the supplement time to rev the metabolism while curbing the appetite. Beginners should start with just one teaspoon before each meal and gradually work their way to three teaspoons.

Add a little light exercise into your daily routine and you have the makings of a simple weight loss plan that actually seems too good to be true. Following the plan is quite easy. All that is necessary is the capacity to remember to take the vinegar before each meal. If the nectar is too much for your stomach, you may want to opt for apple cider vinegar pills instead.

Weight loss is an ongoing process for many people who opt for fad diets and trendy weight reduction plans. The apple cider vinegar diet is ideal because it offers a natural weight loss remedy without a restrictive eating regimen.

How To Get Your Diet To Work

There are lots of different types of diets available. And they all work ... to an extent. You see, almost any diet will cause you to lose a few pounds the first few days that you are on it. But after the first couple of days, most people will either hit a plateau and stop losing weight, or will actually start gaining weight.

Part of the reason that people will lose weight when they start a diet is pretty simple. Whenever the body changes its eating patterns, it will ramp up its metabolism and will burn up additional calories. In fact, one diet takes advantage of this change in eating patterns - metabolism change to help you lose weight.

But eventually, most people get tired of counting the calories, drinking the lemonade, buying the special meals or whatever and go back to their old eating habits, and then all of the weight that they lost comes right back (sometimes even more).

Are you tired of not being able to lose weight? Are you tired of the diet and weight loss industry feeding you lies about their products that don't work, and worse are dangerous to your health? Would you really like to know what you can do to effectively lose weight and keep it off?

The secret is exercise. Most people don't want to hear this, because exercise is boring, it is hard work, it makes to sweat, it takes time, it is any excuse that you want to come up with. But the truth is, for any diet to work, you need to have moderate exercise.

It doesn't matter which diet your are on, Atkins, South Beach, low carb, no carb, whatever, most people will not effectively lose weight unless they also apply exercise to the mix.

The good news, it doesn't take hours and hours of sweating at the gym to start seeing results. It does take consistent work, but you will start seeing results in a fairly short time when you add exercise to your diet. Not only will exercise help you get the firm, fit body, but it will increase your body's metabolism. This will help you burn more calories, faster. You will have more energy and more stamina.

Most people will continue searching for the magic pill that will cause the weight to fall off without them having to do anything. And that is fine, they will continue dumping their hard earned money into the coffers of the diet pill manufacturers. But if you really want to lose weight and keep it off you need to add exercise to your diet.

Dieting by itself is almost always doomed to failure. If you really want to know how to lose weight and feel great go to http://healthyweightlossreview.com/

Are Fat Loss Secrets a Myth?

People look for fat loss secrets as an easy fix for weight loss, just like everything else in life. Of course people's motivation for losing weight can be different; for some it's a health issue, others it's simply looking good. But no matter your reason, people are looking for wonder fat loss secrets, more and more these days.

So yeah, there are a few fat loss secrets you can put to work and start seeing results. But it's pretty obvious they won't be found in the usual places: magazines, mainstream books, and commercial diet programs, and the like. Most of the info they feed you is best used to kill time, and doesn't let most people put a substantial weight loss program together. Lesser-known, more independently published guides by fitness coaches and consultants who have a great reputation, are a more sensible choice for finding fat loss secrets.

So, fat loss secret number one is, set a plan and keep at it. Don't stray from it, like so many people do. It's amazing how so many people will throw in the towel if they don't see amazing results overnight. That's no way to get in shape.

The second fat loss secret is, take into account the type of life you lead now. Are you sitting around most of the time or are you getting plenty of physical activity in every day. Knowing this will give you some idea of how many calories to build into your diet. Document it all out. Everything you eat, you count it. Like my favorite bodybuilding coach told me one time when he was talking about tracking a workout plan, "if you don't record it, you don't do it." And of course jot it down right away; otherwise, you'll likely forget and those will be wasted efforts.

When friends and colleagues tell me of supposed fat loss secrets they heard from their friends, it's pretty clear that most of these are imaginative ideas that don't really hold water. You would need to pretty much live your life following a lot of these "miracle" methods to keep the weight off. There's just so much information out there that's disseminated that it becomes difficult to know which are true fat loss secrets and which ones don't add up. Some do make sense of course, like cutting junk food and fast food, and instead sticking to fruits and vegetables instead.

Fat loss secret three is really to make sure you're taking in plenty of water. Four full glasses over the course of each one day is a pretty good rule of thumb. It varies from person to person, especially with issues of weight and metabolism, etc. This will make your exercising more efficient and helps stave off appetite. So if you integrate a trusted diet and fitness plan with good record keeping and maintaining healthy water intake, those all together make up the only fat loss secrets you need.

But no matter what, keep a positive attitude about what you're doing. Anything worth doing at all is worth giving it your best effort and keeping at it, otherwise all the fat loss secrets under the sun won't help you.

Walking Sense - Make the Most of Your Walking Workouts

It seems simple. You pull on a pair of tennis shoes and head outdoors. Everyone thinks they know what walking is and how to do it. Besides the amazing health benefits to walking, there can be more to walking besides putting one foot in front of the other. To make the most of your workout and reduce incidences of muscle and joint pain, consider these walking mistakes to avoid:

#1. Overstriding: Knowing the correct way to walking can improve your health and help you to walk faster and more smoothly. On the other hand, walking the wrong way will lead to wasted effort and even injury. As a walker, it's natural to try to walk faster and lengthen your stride with the forward foot. This method causes walkers to strike the ground hard with their feet, resulting in a clumsy gait, sore shins, and muscle fatigue.

The cure for overstriding comes as result of pushing with the back of the leg and foot. When walking fast, aim for shorter, quicker steps. Think of pushing off your foot with a rolling-through motion of your back foot and leg. The correct stride should be a lengthening of your stride, which will result in faster feet.

#2.Wrong Shoes: A good walking shoe is necessary to avoid injuries such as plantar fasciitis, muscle pulls and knee problems. Walking shoes should be lightweight with flexible soles that will allow you to easily roll through each step. Shoes should also be replaced every 500 miles (or every year), as the cushioning and support will degrade. Walking shoes should also be larger than your dress shoes if you walk more than 30 minutes or more for exercise. Athletic shoe store associates can help to size a right-fitting walking shoe for you.

#3. Flapping and Slapping Feet: It's a natural tendency to flatten your foot out prematurely while walking if you're not conscious of rolling through each step with your forward foot - from heel to toe. Heavy shoes or weak shins can contribute to the problem. Again, it's important to wear flexible shoes that bend at the ball of the feet and feature a low heel. To strengthen your shins, try toe raises by standing on a stair facing upstairs and let your heels hang over the edge. Dip the heels down and raise them up 10-20 times. Prior to your walking workout, warm up the heels by walking on them for 30 seconds.

#4. No Arms: Perhaps you've seen someone walking with their arms still at their sides, or even swinging them without bending. Besides looking strange, this method will lead to swelling in the hands. Normal walking motion requires the arms to move as a counterbalance to the legs. A walker adds power and speed when using the arms correctly. Make sure you bend your arms at a 90 degree angle and let them swing naturally back and forth, opposite the leg motion.

#5. Chicken Wing: This is Walking Workout 101, not the Chicken Dance. If you're swinging your arms from side to side, crossing the center of your body, you may be a Chicken Wing offender. Remember that your arms should swing back and forth and elbows should be close to your body. Hands should not cross the center line or come up past your breasts. A correct arm swing allows you to concentrate power from your rear leg rather than wasting motion in front of your body.

#6. Leaning: You find yourself leaning back or forward more than 5 degrees. Or perhaps you have a sway back. Maybe you thought leaning equals good form. Leaning forward or backward while walking can result in lower back pain and will inhibit your speed and technique.

The proper position for good walking is to stand up straight but relax the shoulders. Keep your chin up and parallel to the ground. Your stomach and behind should also be tucked in as you walk. To keep from swaying your back, make sure your stomach or backside are not pushed out forward or back. Stomach- and back-strengthening exercises are very beneficial for standing straighter.

Is Weight Loss Surgery Right For You?

Weight loss surgery is a way to lose weight quickly. It is not meant to serve everyones needs, but rather the needs of those that are severely overweight. Those that have other health problems are even more hindered by their weight or those that have the likelihood to develop health problems due to their excessive weight, are the best candidates for this type of surgery.

If you are severely obese, it may be important to consider how surgery can change it. The most common type of surgery for weight loss happens to be one that will shorten the size of the stomach. When it does this, you are unable to eat a large amount of food. In fact, only a few bites can be eaten at any one time. By doing this, your body will need to fully digest a meal before you can eat again. The body then must go to the fat reserves to burn them for energy.

This type of surgery for weight loss can be very successful. Yet, there are some risks to it. If you are someone that wont take care of yourself, and you eat more than you should, you could risk the potential damages to the stomach and therefore expand it enough that you could eat larger meals again. Or, you may rupture what the surgery has done. Even still there are the risks to consider of major surgery like this.

If you are considering a surgery that will help you with your weight loss, consider what it can do for you but also how it will work. This surgery is not for those that are looking to lose a few pounds, but rather for those that are looking to lose a large amount of weight to improve their health. The risks and the careful control should be considered.

3 Easy Weight Loss Tips That Work

1. Exercise

This should obviously be the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of how to lose weight. Exercise has been proven effective since the days of cavemen. Anytime you challenge your body in a workout you are going to get results that you like. The thing is you have to stick to it even though it may seem hard at first. Remember the saying "no pain, no gain", it stands for something and it will help you succeed in your weight loss goals.

2. Supplements

Some people have problems losing weight and need to get help from supplements that are available on the market. These supplements are perfectly healthy and are actually made from plants that grow on the earth. No harsh chemicals and the side effects are nil to none compared to over the counter prescription pills. These weight loss supplements work WITH your body to help you lose weight and keep it off. The supplements are able to bind to fat and keep it out of your system. They also help reduce your appetite so you are not craving for food and binge eating. Give them a try if you are looking for some added help in weight loss.

3. Keep a Food Journal

You would be surprised how much you eat in a day if you wrote down everything. Sure you had a snack at 10 am but then you ate lunch in the afternoon. After you ate lunch you grabbed a snack from the vending machine, or maybe at lunch your co-worker couldn't finish their sandwich and you ate it. All these little things add up and will keep you from achieving your goal of losing weight. Keep a food journal and track what you eat. See what you eat and at what times so you can try and kick the habit of eating in between meals.

Taking these tips and running with them will help you succeed in losing weight. Visit the weight loss website HelpLoseThePounds.com for more information!

Moms & Fitness - Tips for the Busy Mom

Some moms have a busy lifestyle. They cook, they clean, and they drive their children to classes. They teach, they referee, and the list goes on.

If you're a mom, you know how to get things done for everyone else, but chances are, you don't take time to take care of your self. While busy schedules keep moms on the go, moms find themselves without much time for fitness.

School schedules and car pools combined with household tasks and a full-time job don't leave mom much time for moms to get the full benefits of exercise.

Moms manage to squeeze in dentist appointments for their children and can make time to show up, without a moment to spare, at a class play, mentioned at the last minute. Super mom can somehow manage to find time to do the things she needs to do to successfully manage her schedule, keeping everyone happy.

The "I don't have time to exercise" isn't a good excuse. If you really want to find time for fitness and exercise, there are many things you can do.

Finding time to take care of your self, with plenty of rest and exercise, should be one of those things you do for yourself without hesitation. Schedule the time in your day planner or make a note on the dry-erase board your "me-time." Procrastination is a word that has no meaning for moms when it comes to taking care of your children. The same should apply for making time for fitness.

Diversify your fitness schedule to include solo walks, a quick round of tennis, or horseback riding with the one you love. Be creative in planning your schedule.

If you know on Monday you have to pick up one child at 2:00, but you have to pick the other one up thirty minutes later, make good use of the time between pickups. You could toss your walking shoes in the car, having them ready to slip on when you pick up the child at 2:00. Both of you could take a short walk while you wait for the second child. If your daughter has a practice 25 minutes across town at the high school, you could take your swimsuit and use the school's swimming pool to swim a few laps. Most schools don't mind you using the pool if you call ahead. Some offer free swims on certain days of the week. If your son's football practice is held over 45 minutes, continue walking around the track until you hear him tell you, "Mom, I'm ready to go now."

The important thing to remember is, because you are a mom, you may have to jump in and take advantage of a thirty-minute window to have time for fitness. Be prepared for those opportunities and learn to expect the unexpected, taking care to use those extra few minutes wisely. The results will amaze you.

The Secret Weapon For Losing Weight

Over the last decade being overweight seems to be more the norm and not the exception. A lot of people have turned this to their advantage. There are so many diet programs out there it's really hard to decide what works and what doesn't work. Most of the programs being offered are flash in the pan schemes that just don't work. The promised results never appear and you are left frustrated, disappointed, and the only thing that's any thinner is your wallet.

Forget all the programs designed to take your hard earned income, following are some effective ways to help you lose weight and become the healthy, sexier you that's hidden inside. What's the cost for this invaluable information? Brace yourself it's not cheap! It's even better because it's completely free.

Surprisingly sleep has a lot to do with weight gain. Sleeping for 8 hours is a great start to losing weight. Studies have been made and it's been found that lack of sleep slows down your metabolism. People that sleep 4 hours a night have slower metabolisms than someone sleeping 6 to 8 hours a night. Most of these insomniacs add to the problem by consuming more food, after all they have an extra 4 hours to eat. So number one on the list is try to sleep for 8 hours a day. How do you sleep longer, keep reading.

Research also tells us that our metabolism starts to slow down between late afternoon and late evening. What are most people doing at these times? Sitting around talking or watching TV and snacking. Do this on a regular basis and before long you're twice the person you used to be. This is the time to take action, you need to drag yourself out of your chair and either do a little exercise or go for an evening walk. It's rough in the beginning but after a while it becomes second nature. The mind and body can become addicted to good habits as easily as bad habits.

Other things you might want to consider. Instead of jumping in the car to go to the corner store, why not walk? Walking is a great way to burn off a few extra calories. Leave a few minutes early and park the car further away when you go to work. If you have the choice between the elevator and the stairs, take the stairs. Work in the yard or garden instead of watching TV when the weather permits. If you must snack between meals don't keep them with you, put them in another room and take one or two at a time. These are small changes that won't drive you nuts and have you running to refrigerator all the time.

Don't skip meals; eating three well-balanced meals each day is essential to stabilizing your weight. Miss a meal and your body realizes it and as soon as food is available the body wants to gorge itself and you end up eating more than normal. Missing meals will not help you lose weight; it can actually hinder your efforts. The metabolism slows down because the body is trying to conserve food to supply energy and this energy is saved in the form of fat. Eat more proteins. Protein intake stabilizes the amount of insulin in the bloodstream, which is highly beneficial to the body.

Exercise is good for you and as long as you are physically healthy and don't go to extremes is recommended by every medical professional. Although exercise does not directly influence the metabolism, it does help indirectly by giving you better and more relaxed sleep. And, as mentioned earlier sleeping does increase your metabolism.

Lean muscle is a great help in expediting your metabolism, your aim should be to increase your lean muscle mass. You don't have to start jogging ten miles a day or run out and buy a gym membership to achieve this. Plan on doing a few squats and pushup everyday and this alone will help immensely.

Raising your metabolism will greatly increase your chances of losing those extra pounds and a few simple changes will keep them off and make you feel less tired and ready to face the world each morning. Eat well-balanced meals; replace meat with skinless chicken or fish; for a between meals snack try fruit instead of a candy bar or crackers; drink a glass of water before each meal and a glass of water between each meal. Cut back on fried foods.

I know it all sounds so easy but I have to tell you, it isn't. Your will power is going to get the best of you. That little voice that whispers inside your head, tells you how much you miss that baked potato oozing with butter and sour cream, or that triple burger and large fries. And, you're going to give in and eat yourself into a stupor. It's only human nature for this to happen, and it will. The trick is to realize this and accept it. It happened and there's nothing you can do about it. Don't lecture yourself; don't bang your head against the wall; and don't quit. Continue from where you left off. It might happen a few times. Each time it does and you continue you're reinforcing to your mind and your body that you're determined to win this battle and eventually they'll understand and come over to your side.

People spend hundreds, even thousands of dollars trying to find the magic formula for losing weight when all the time they have the secret inside their own body. http://areufat.blogspot.com/

Weight Loss Through 'Conscious Eating' Not Dieting

Are you at the point where you are tired of living a life with food as your enemy?

Is life a constant struggle as you try to shed or keep off those extra pounds?

Have you ever wondered where all your will power went?

The truth about weight loss motivation does not lie with will power; it lies with the skills we lost when we started dieting. Our problem lies not with food but with our own attitude to it. When following a diet plan or eating regime you not only label food as 'good' or 'bad' but you also give up two very important skills...

1. The Skill of Conscious Eating
2. The Skill of Personal Choice

By listening to what foods others tell you are good for you, personal power of choice is given away. By switching off your mind to your body you close down your instinctive ability to eat exactly what your body requires. Your focus becomes the food you believe you shouldn't have and the outer appearance of your body. In other words you lose the skill of inner reflection, an ability to look internally to find peace and happiness rather than projecting it on external factors and expectations.

Conscious Eating is therefore not just about food, it encompass a wide variety of skills based around reflection on...

* Your thoughts about food
* Your thoughts about yourself
* The effect different foods have on your body
* How you feel when you are eating and have eaten
* How you use food as a fuel not a comforter
* How you love yourself

These are the skills you have lost, the many and varied habits of 'Conscious Eating'. The first step in regaining them is to shed your fear of food and learn to love it again. It is fear that holds you trapped in old and unhelpful habits with food. After all, if they were useful would you be struggling in a battle with food and weight after all this time? Wouldn't you have lost the weight and kept it off easily?

Many of the Conscious Eating skills are those used by people who have never had a weight or size issue and so have never dieted. They are a rare breed that believe they are beautiful just as they are. They have no problem accepting the shape of the body they genetically inherited from their parents. They have no problem ignoring what others and society portray as the 'perfect' body shape. They sometimes have a wardrobe of clothes in 2 different sizes because they accept their weight fluctuation between seasons. They may even have no problem accepting a change in shape and size, as they get older. These are the people you can learn a great deal from about Conscious Eating. They hold many of the keys of how you regain control and power over the food you eat, and how to eat to live rather than live to eat.

Conquering Migraines: Advanced Biofeedback Boasts Permanent Success Rates of 90%

A corporate promotion meant more money and more stress for John R. Unfortunately, his migraines went from occasional to every Saturday morning for 4 months in row. Then they just stopped due to neurofeedback.

Neurofeedback is a form of biofeedback that works with brain function. I havent had a migraine since my 3rd session. Im continuing the training for a while longer because I dont want to have a migraine ever again.

Migraines normally run in families and Johns siblings get these headaches too. The migraine statistics are dismal. Headaches are the most common complaint physicians hear. About 20 Americans suffer from migraine headaches, but only half of these people call their headaches migraines. Of the 12% of people who get migraines, women are victims 3 to 1 over men.

Symptoms typically include horrible throbbing pain in part of the head. Nausea is common as is a sensitivity to light or sound. The pain can last for hours or days. Migraines may begin in childhood and can last throughout the life span.

An episode often begins after an accumulation of stress and then a release from stress. The ebb and flow of the autonomic nervous system is disrupted and the relaxation wheels grind. The brain stem and trigeminal nerve conspire to constrict blood flow out of the brain. An engorged blood vessel in the brain pounds against a meandering cranial nerve causing the throbbing pain. A visual aura only occurs 30% of the time but for some people that is the primary symptom.

Migraines are usually triggered by an accumulation of idiosyncratic factors. These can range from weather to wine.

Migraineurs are often highly responsible people and somewhat tightly wound. There is little point in telling them to relax. They must first learn how.

Biofeedback has been recognized for decades as an effective technique to aid migraine headache sufferers. The basic method is to teach relaxation with hand warming. Greater blood flow to the hands brings the warmth.

During the fright r flight response, blood moves away from the periphery. The opposite autonomic nervous system mode is rest n digest. Here our skin tone goes from pale to florid.

The biofeedback remedy is trial and error practice in raising your finger temperature by watching a thermometer. The goal is the facility to achieve 94.5 within 5 minutes. This does take diligent practice. Few people keep it up without lots of skillful encouragement. It works for 50% of the people or 50% of the pain depending on what the study measured.

With advances in technology have come efficiency of time. And efficacy in degree and proportion of successful results.

Now there are two kinds of neurofeedback training that have made stopping migraine headaches quite possible for over 90% of those with this debilitating disorder. The combination of methods has not been tested.

Biofeedback begins with monitoring. The first method uses an infrared sensor to detect heat radiation emanating from the forehead.

Why are human foreheads bare of hair? To cool the large cerebral cortex in the front of our skull! Learning to increase blood perfusion to the frontal cortex is acquiring biofeedback control over regional cerebral blood flow. When viewed with infrared photography each session appears to brighten the entire forehead.

Think of infrared training as brain strengthening. Sessions spent raising the infrared temperature seems to stimulate neurocellular activity. The activation becomes greater self-regulation over the cortical migraine generator.

The effect looks like enabling the brain to turn off the migraine switch. More practice at brain brightening gradually builds the ability to turn away a migraine before it gets started without conscious effort. This can interrupt a current raging migraine within 20 minutes. Clients often say It just kinda pooped out.

In the main study of 100 migraine patients, 94% got at least 50% reduction in pain after 6 half-hour sessions. During these sessions, the client looks at either the biofeedback numbers or their favorite movie. Above a moving threshold the movie plays.

The second form of neurofeedback uses an EEG or electroencephalograph to read brain waves. This micro-volt meter detects tiny brain emanations on the scalp and displays the information for biofeedback of brain activity. Every time a neuron fires it is a chemical and an electrical event.

As in all biofeedback, displaying a biological process leads to control of that function. With self-awareness comes self-regulation. All healing is self-healing where self-information is the remedy. The practitioner merely holds up a high-tech mirror and does some coaching. Home training units are now available.

The most advanced forms of brainwave biofeedback requires no special effort. You simply listen to your favorite music. If you want, you can look at a dynamic graphic. The information comes from brief pauses in the music and graphics corresponding to moments of higher brainwave turbulence.

Interrupting a brainwaves surge promotes peace of mind. So does continuous playing of the music during relative lulls in the constant mental storm as read by the EEG. The pauses are set to come often enough to be informative and transformative while still being a pleasant experience. It is like learning to drive a car steadily within the lane when there are rumble strips on both sides. Then narrow the lane. The software has 18 lanes at once spanning the brainwave spectrum.

Neurofeedback makes the central nervous system more internally efficient. Rather than closing down at lower speeds, the mind becomes better coordinated and more complex.

The real problem are the ruts and patterns we develop to over control ourselves. Any fixed brainwave pattern is a loss of freedom, a reduction in flexibility and less resilience for the entire system.

Turning down the idle speed allows a brainwave reorganization and self-repair where extraneous habits are discarded. To drop needless surging is a permanent release. To cease wasting energy is a welcome unwinding that is recognized and retained naturally.

These remedies work to create significant and often total relief for a very high proportion of clients. And when it works, it seems to work for good. Both forms of neurofeedback typically produce permanent freedom from future migraines.

When done gently, both forms of neurofeedback are safe and harmless, even for sensitive people. The other effects of neurofeedback are all benefits such as lower stress, better sleep and reduced mental chatter. Adverse effects are rare, minor and self-limiting, generally caused by pushing the system, such as blindly doing too much too soon.

Neurofeedback is highly effective in empowering the migraineur to stop getting horrible headaches. John R. found the experience of neurofeedback to be utterly calming. I feel sharper and definitely less anxious. And I havent had any more headaches, not even a hint of one. Its nice having all my Saturdays back.

Weight Loss Without the Workout Routine

If you are like most people you probably want to get back in shape, but just don't have the "time" to do so. The truth is that it does not require much time at all. Maybe you don't have the money to join a gym. This is also something that can be overcome with ease.

All you have to do is start doing is more than you already do now.You can start off just doing stretches everyday. This will have a tremendous impact on the way you feel on a daily basis. Just start the day out with some basic stretches (simple warm up stretches you learned in school) and you will see what I mean.

You probably don't think about it but you lose weight simply participating in your favorite activities like dancing, basketball, soccer, bike riding, catch etc.

You don't have to so much cut back on the 'amounts' of food you take in, but more so the 'kinds' of foods you take in. For example, you can have a subway sandwich instead of a burger with fries. Mainly you want to stay away from foods that are fried as well as sodas. Go with the cleaner choices, and make sure you're getting fruits and vegetables in there also. It may be hard to change over at first, but speaking from experience, after a week or so of eating cleaner foods you will have NO desire for those unhealthy choices. If you're an energy drinker, go with the sugar free versions. If you follow the 90/10 Rule, you will see results.

With that said, you should make sure you're drinking your 8 glasses of water each day. This is essential in order for the body to function correctly, which helps the body burn more calories.

Last but not least, START TODAY! Do not wait for a set date in the future to start making smart choices about your health. Procrastination is the number one cause of failure. Be persistent and be successful!

Great Tasting Foods For Weight Loss Success

My mentor Robert Ferguson would have a picture of a grilled chicken breast and steamed broccoli. Along side the chicken he would put a very yummy picture of succulent ribs, tasty tacos, and delicious deserts. He asks a question to the crowd, "Which one would you rather eat?" There is no need to know which one the crowd would prefer. He would say that diet food is food that you won't eat for the rest of your life.

The point is this: you need to eat food that you like that will cause you to lose weight. You will not be successful with weight loss with foods that you don't enjoy eating. If it came to me, I would rather eat my mom's tacos vs. grilled chicken and steamed broccoli. Is it that simple? Yes. You need to be able to eat the foods you enjoy eating to be able to use those foods to lose weight. Any other method will probably cause you to gain the weight back.

Conventional methods of weight loss have you eating 'diet-foods' and performing extensive long periods of exercise. Now I'm not saying that exercise is not important. I don't know any other form to lose calories fast and plenty of them then through exercise. What I am saying is that weight loss has to be an enjoyable process. You have to do exercise that you enjoy and can continue to do regularly. The same goes for food. You have to be able to use the foods you already enjoy so that you can lose weight. In order for weight loss to take place there are several small factors to consider such as combining your favorite foods with others that cause your body to burn fat instead of storing fat.

The principle of weight loss is the same then as it is now as will be in the future. It's about burning more calories than what you consume. That's why it's important to be able to time your meals throughout the day in smaller portions. If say a person loves steak and mashed potatoes, how helpful for weight loss is a plateful of 1lb of steak and a heaping mound of buttered mash potatoes? Yet, there are plenty of restaurants that serve these tremendous disproportionate plates of food. Yet, an easier, smaller portion of food is easier to digest and will cause you to burn fat instead of storing it while enjoying the savory flavors of steak and potatoes.

The foods you enjoy are the same foods you have to use to lose weight. People are resistant to change. People don't like change. The foods you enjoy to eat don't have to change in order for you to lose weight and keep it off. Just take in consideration other factors so that your body is burning fat instead of storing fat.

Turbulence Training Review

Like so many other people, I have been trying to get my weight under control. I have tried everything from L.A. Diet which is liquid only to Adkins and many other fad diets. I came across “Turbulence Training” one day when I was search for a diet and exercise plan on the internet. Turbulence Training was created by Craig Ballantyne, a certified strength and conditioning coach.

I was pretty skeptical about the claims the program makes. I decided to try Turbulence Training for two reasons. Number one is the low price, I have paid much more for useless training videos and equipment. Number two, there is an eight week money back guarantee. I told myself I would try the program for a month and get my money back if I didn't see any results.

On to the program itself. Turbulence Training is designed for busy people, which was great for me. You work out three time per week for 45 minutes each session and all the exercises can be done in the privacy of your own home.

I started Turbulence Training with a lot of hesitation. I had been using a treadmill at home 4 times a week for an hour and a half. I didn't think there was any way working out half as long and one less time per week would produce any results. Boy was I wrong.

Let me say this, within a month of starting the program, co-workers were beginning to ask questions. The workouts are short but they are very intense. With Turbulence Training, I have been able to lose fat and build muscle at the same time. This is something I had never been able to do before, I was always just trying to get rid of the fat and not worried about muscle building. Now I am working towards that really toned look that I have always wanted.

Not long after my co-workers began asking questions, some of my friends began to ask what I was doing as well. I clued them in to Turbulence Training and got a couple of them hooked. We have been working out together for the past couple weeks and having other people to work out with has just added to my motivation.

I can honestly recommend Turbulence Training to anyone that is fed up with fad diets and working out for hours with no results. A lot of people have had success with Turbulence Training and you can read other testimonials on their website.
